Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) Practice Test 2026 – Comprehensive All-in-One Guide for Exam Success!

In the event of a crime, the most critical first step for a manager is to contact the police. This action is essential for several reasons. Firstly, law enforcement has the training and authority to handle criminal activities, assess the situation, and take necessary actions that an apartment manager is not equipped to perform. Secondly, involving the police ensures that an official report is filed, which is important for both legal and insurance purposes.

Additionally, by notifying the police promptly, valuable evidence can be preserved and the scene can be secured. This timely response can significantly aid in the investigation and increase the chances of recovering stolen property or apprehending suspects. While it is also important for managers to inform residents and maintain safety, contacting the authorities is the crucial first step to ensure that the situation is handled appropriately and legally.
